Welcome to Halcyon-7, a small browser-based 2D social hangout game set on a retro space station.

These Terms of Service explain the rules for using Halcyon-7. By creating an account, accessing the website, or playing the game, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Halcyon-7 is

Halcyon-7 is a cozy online social game where players can:

• Create one account and one character
• Walk around public rooms
• Chat with other players
• Customize an avatar
• Add friends
• Earn in-game credits
• Buy cosmetic items with in-game credits
• Earn badges
• Play small minigames
• Participate in manually run events

Halcyon-7 is built as a passion project. It is not designed around grinding, gambling, paid advantage, loot boxes, or pay-to-win mechanics.

2. Eligibility and age

You must be at least 16 years old to use Halcyon-7, unless a different age is required by the law where you live.

If you are below the minimum age, you may not create an account or use Halcyon-7.

By using Halcyon-7, you confirm that:

• You meet the minimum age requirement.
• You can enter into these Terms.
• You will follow these Terms and the community rules.
• The information you provide is accurate.

3. Accounts

To use the game, you need an account.

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login details secure
• Using an email address or login provider you control
• Any activity that happens on your account
• Telling us if you think your account has been compromised

You may not:

• Share, sell, rent, or transfer your account
• Create accounts to evade bans or restrictions
• Impersonate another person
• Use a username intended to mislead, harass, or impersonate
• Use someone else's account without permission

Halcyon-7 currently uses one account, one character, and one username. Usernames are intended to be visible and persistent.

We may refuse, rename, suspend, or remove usernames that violate these Terms, infringe rights, impersonate someone, or create moderation issues.

4. Invite-only or limited access

Halcyon-7 may launch with invite-only, request-access, or limited registration.

Invite codes, if used:

• Are for the intended recipient only unless we say otherwise
• May be revoked
• May be limited in number or duration
• Must not be sold
• Must not be used to evade bans or restrictions

We may close, pause, or limit registration at any time, especially for moderation, stability, or safety reasons.

5. Community rules

Halcyon-7 is a public social space. Be kind, do not be creepy, and do not make the station worse for everyone else.

You may not:

• Harass, threaten, stalk, or abuse other players
• Use hate speech or target people based on protected characteristics
• Sexually harass other players
• Share sexual content involving minors or exploitative content of any kind
• Encourage self-harm, violence, or illegal activity
• Dox, reveal private information, or threaten to reveal private information
• Spam, flood, scam, phish, or manipulate players
• Impersonate another player, moderator, admin, or public figure
• Evade filters, mutes, bans, rate limits, or moderation actions
• Use bots, scripts, automation, exploits, or unauthorized clients
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or attack the service
• Upload, post, or send malware or malicious links
• Infringe someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights
• Use the service for commercial advertising or solicitation without permission

We may update or expand these rules as the game develops.

6. Public chat and direct messages

Public rooms and public chat are not private.

Other players in a shared room may see what you say. Moderators and administrators may review chat and message context when needed for safety, reports, abuse prevention, or service operation.

Direct messages are not public, but they are not end-to-end encrypted. They may be reviewed when needed for moderation, safety, legal compliance, or support.

Do not share passwords, private addresses, financial details, or sensitive personal information through Halcyon-7.

7. Moderation

Halcyon-7 may use filters, rate limits, reports, mutes, kicks, bans, blocks, account restrictions, invite revocation, or other moderation tools.

We may take moderation action if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for other players, abused the service, or caused operational problems.

Moderation actions may include:

• Warning you
• Filtering or removing content
• Rate-limiting chat or actions
• Muting you
• Kicking you from a room
• Temporarily or permanently banning your account
• Preventing you from creating new accounts
• Revoking invite codes or access
• Removing or anonymizing your profile
• Reporting serious issues to appropriate authorities where required

Some moderation actions may be visible to you. Others may not be visible if visibility would compromise safety, abuse prevention, or investigation integrity.

We are not required to provide detailed explanations for every moderation action.

8. Reporting and blocking

You may report players or content that violates these Terms.

Please use reports honestly. False, abusive, retaliatory, or spam reports may themselves lead to moderation action.

You may also block players where the game provides blocking tools. Blocking may restrict direct messages, presence sharing, and chat visibility, but it may not make all past content disappear.

9. In-game credits, items, badges, and progression

Halcyon-7 may include in-game credits, items, badges, cosmetics, inventory, minigame rewards, and seasonal event rewards.

Unless we clearly say otherwise:

• Credits have no cash value.
• Items have no cash value.
• Badges have no cash value.
• Cosmetics have no cash value.
• In-game rewards cannot be exchanged for money.
• In-game rewards are not your property in the real-world legal sense.
• We may adjust, rebalance, rename, replace, grant, remove, or retire in-game items where needed.

Halcyon-7 is designed so that in-game currency, items, and badges are earned through play. The project does not currently include premium currency, loot boxes, paid power, or paid gameplay shortcuts.

10. Donations and optional supporter perks

Halcyon-7 currently has no required payment to play.

If optional donations or supporter perks are added later, they must be cosmetic or non-gameplay-affecting unless these Terms are updated.

Possible future supporter perks might include things like:

• A supporter badge
• A cosmetic name color
• Other non-gameplay recognition

Supporter perks must not provide gameplay advantage, exclusive progression power, loot boxes, gambling mechanics, or pay-to-win benefits.

If payments or donations are added later, payment-specific terms, refund rules, provider details, and tax/VAT details should be added before launch of that feature.

11. No trading unless officially added

Player-to-player trading is not part of the current planned MVP.

You may not sell, trade, or transfer accounts, usernames, credits, items, badges, invite codes, or access outside official systems.

If official trading is ever added, separate rules may apply.

12. User content

“User content” means content you submit, post, write, upload, or otherwise provide through Halcyon-7, including chat messages, direct messages, profile bios, usernames, reports, and form submissions.

You keep any rights you have in your user content, but you give Halcyon-7 a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, transmit, moderate, modify for formatting or safety, and otherwise use that content as needed to:

• Operate the service
• Show content to other users
• Provide social features
• Moderate and enforce rules
• Investigate reports
• Debug and secure the service
• Comply with law

You are responsible for your user content. Do not post content you do not have the right to use.

We may remove, restrict, preserve, or disclose user content where needed to operate the service, enforce these Terms, protect users, or comply with legal obligations.

13. Halcyon-7 content and intellectual property

Halcyon-7, including its name, logos, art, code, rooms, characters, UI, text, music, sound effects, items, badges, and other game materials, belongs to Halcyon-7 or its licensors unless otherwise stated.

You may not copy, redistribute, sell, scrape, clone, or use Halcyon-7 content outside the service without permission, except where allowed by law.

You may create non-commercial fan content, screenshots, streams, or videos of Halcyon-7 as long as you:

• Do not imply that your work is official
• Do not harass or expose private information about players
• Do not monetize Halcyon-7 assets directly without permission
• Follow any community or brand guidelines we publish later

We may ask you to remove fan content that causes confusion, infringes rights, harms players, or misuses the brand.

14. Software, security, and acceptable use

You may not:

• Access the service using unauthorized bots, scripts, scrapers, or automation
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the client or server except where legally allowed
• Interfere with or bypass authentication, rate limits, moderation, matchmaking, or server-authoritative gameplay
• Exploit bugs, duplicate items, manipulate credits, or attack the economy
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service without permission
• Use the service to host, send, or distribute malicious code
• Attempt to access admin tools, private storage, data exports, backups, or other users' data
• Overload or disrupt the service

If you discover a vulnerability, please report it responsibly to:

Do not publicly disclose vulnerabilities until we have had a reasonable chance to fix them.

15. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data.

16. Service availability

Halcyon-7 is a passion project. It may be unavailable, unstable, changed, paused, reset, or discontinued.

We may:

• Change, add, or remove features
• Wipe or reset test data during alpha, beta, invite-only, or pre-launch phases
• Close rooms
• Limit concurrency
• Pause registrations
• Revoke access
• Perform maintenance
• Shut down the service

We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but we do not guarantee that Halcyon-7 will always be available or error-free.

17. Beta, testing, and resets

Halcyon-7 may run alpha, beta, invite-only, soft-launch, or testing phases.

During these phases:

• Features may be incomplete
• Bugs may occur
• Balance may change
• Items, credits, badges, or progress may be reset
• Accounts may be removed if needed for testing, safety, or launch preparation

Do not rely on test-phase progress being permanent unless we clearly say it is.

18. Account termination

You may stop using Halcyon-7 at any time.

You may request account deletion by contacting:

We may suspend, restrict, delete, or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• You create legal, security, safety, or operational risk
• You evade moderation
• Your account is inactive for a long period, if we adopt an inactivity policy
• We discontinue the service

Some data may be retained or anonymized after account deletion where needed for legal obligations, moderation integrity, security, abuse prevention, or to preserve evidence of past actions.

19. Third-party services

Halcyon-7 may rely on third-party services such as:

• Supabase for authentication
• Discord OAuth, if you choose Discord login
• VPS hosting
• Email delivery
• Error monitoring
• Payment or donation providers, if added later

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

20. Disclaimers

Halcyon-7 is provided “as is” and “as available.”

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we do not promise that:

• The service will be uninterrupted
• The service will be error-free
• The service will be secure against every possible attack
• Game data will never be lost
• Every moderation decision will be perfect
• Every user will follow the rules
• The service will continue forever

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

21. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Halcyon-7 and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or service interruption.

Where liability cannot be excluded, liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed by applicable law.

This section does not limit liability where doing so would be illegal, such as liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence where applicable, or mandatory consumer rights.

22. Indemnity

If you misuse Halcyon-7, violate these Terms, infringe someone else's rights, or cause legal claims against Halcyon-7, you agree to be responsible for the resulting claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and reasonable costs to the extent allowed by law.

23. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Halcyon-7 develops.

If changes are important, we will try to provide reasonable notice, such as by updating the website, showing an in-game notice, or emailing account holders where appropriate.

If you continue using Halcyon-7 after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
